About A & W Goddard, Funeral Director in Fleet, Hampshire

A & W Goddard is a historic Funeral Director in Fleet, having served the local community since 1896. Founded by brothers Arthur and William Goddard, the firm originally operated as builders, carpenters, painters, and funeral directors. Throughout its early years, the business relied on support from E Finch & Sons of Aldershot, who provided essential staff, horses and carts, and funeral vehicles. After the passing of the Goddard brothers, management transferred to Norman Goddard and his cousin Frank Carol, with continued assistance from John and Tony of E Finch & Sons.

Following the sale of E Finch & Sons to the Great Southern Group, A & W Goddard was acquired by John, Tony, and Martin at the start of 1989. The premises on Kent Road in Fleet were subsequently rebuilt to modern standards, where the team continues to support families today. We provide professional care to clients across Fleet, Church Crookham, Dogmersfield, Winchfield, Hartley Wintney, Ewshot, and Crondall.

As a member of the Ford Mears group, we have access to a wide variety of funeral vehicles and specialist services. This partnership allows us to offer extensive options to our clients while maintaining the personal, dedicated approach of an independent, family-run business. We are situated to assist with services at both Aldershot Crematorium and Easthampstead Park Crematorium.
